LELO Tiani review

December 8th, 2011 @ Amber St. Clare

The last toy in the new LELO line that I’m reviewing is the LELO Insignia Tiani. This couples vibe is meant to be a dual stimulator that you can wear solo, or during sex. Tiani comes in a black LELO gift box, along with a 1 year warranty, user manual, charger, remote, batteries for the remote, a sample packet of LELO’s personal moisturizer lubricant, LELO Insignia brooch and satin storage pouch. Tiani, like the other toys in the new wireless line from LELO, is waterproof, made of quality silicone with a smooth matte finish and metallic colored ABS plastic. The toy plays best with water-based lubricant, and since it’s waterproof it is bathtub and shower friendly. Tiani is small, and fits in the palm of your hand. It looks a little like a slim V shape, with both arms of the toy being silicone, and the small band around the front arm being ABS plastic. This metallic colored ABS plastic area is where you open the toy for charging. You simply grasp the silver colored band, and twist the top arm of the Tiani, it will open to show a charging port. Plug the charger in and give it a few good hours charge until it’s ready for action. Once you place the cap back on the toy and twist it tightly until the cap is lined up and back in place, the toy is ready to use, and the seal charging port will keep water out of the charging input. You could get lube trapped around the seam though, so be sure to clean the area carefully and thoroughly between uses. Cleaning Tiani is pretty easy, just wash it under the faucet using anti-bacterial soap and water, or use your favorite toy cleanser, and then dry the toy with a lint free cloth.

Tiani’s remote requires 2 AAA batteries, and features a smooth round body, with a ABS metallic silver disc that turns to open/close for you to insert batteries into the charger. Thats one bummer, I was hoping the remote would be rechargeable, but the remote does come with batteries so you’re able to use it right away. It comes with a remote turn key that you can slide into the toy of the lid and turn to open the toy, but I opened the lid just fine using my hand. The other side of the remote is smooth and matte silicone and it features the control buttons: _ , power button, and +. Before you use the remote to power the toy, you need to sync the wireless connection between the Tiani and the remote. To do this, press and hold the wireless button on Tiani ( it looks like ((o)) and it will blink once you press it) and then press the + button on the remote. Once the connection is made, both buttons should blink and the toy will begin to vibrate. It’s now in SenseMotion mode, which means if you move the remote up and down at different angles it will change the vibration intensity on the toy (as well as the remote, the remote vibrates to let you know what your lover is feeling on the receiving end of the Tiani). The toy also has another SenseMotion mode, that allows you to shake or swirl the remote to change intensity of the toy. If you’d rather not use the SenseMotion technology, you cna use the toy in manual mode and press the buttons to choose a vibration speed/mode. To get into Manual Mode, turn the toy on by pressing the wireless button on Tiani, and instead of pressing + on the remote, press and hold the middle power button on the remote. From there, you can browse different vibraiton patterns by pressing the middle power button, or make the vibration higher or lower by pressing the -/+ buttons. Press and hold the middle power button for a few seconds when you’re in Manual mode, and this should create a blinking light on the remote and will shut the vibration off on Tiani’s remote so that only the toy will vibrate rather than the toy and the remote.

The Tiani comes in Black or Deep Rose, the flash on my camera is making the color much brighter pink than it really is. It’s much more fuschia with purple under tones in person. The toy is a bit buzzy and louder than my older LELO toy models, the vibration intensity is nice, but not super powerful. I noticed that the remote does lose connection with the wireless Tiani vibe from time to time, which can be tedious, though the remote does seem to work up to 12 meters from the toy as long as the wireless button is in direct path to it. You could let your lover control this while you’re wearing it from across the room, or you could use the toy in Manual mode, set a specific vibration setting and then have couples sex, with the remote near by you could pick it up and press buttons when you ant to change the speed or vibrating pattern. Tiani is a wearable vibrator, with one arm worn inside of the vagina, and the other arm worn outside and positioned against the vulva and clit. The slim size is supposed to make it ideal for couples to still have penetrative intercourse without the toy getting in the way. This toy is definitely more of a clit toy though, as the toy doesn’t vibrate in both arms, it vibrates in the larger arm which is to be worn externally against the clit/vulva, while the smaller arm that is used internally doesn’t vibrate. The arm holds the toy in place, and you can feel a little vibration that travels through the silicone from the external clit vibrations. I like the technology and fun idea behind the Tiani, and the pretty design looks nice and modern. While Tiani isn’t my favorite toy, I’m really glad that I got the chance to review it so that I have now tried the entire LELO Insignia with SenseMotion line.

LELO Tiani retails for $159, but one of my favorite sex toy shops Pleasure Galaxie has it for $129! Thats $30 off retail, and PG also ships discreetly and quickly.

Review: Vibratex Violet dual stimulator vibe

November 19th, 2011 @ Amber St. Clare

Meet the Vibratex Violet, no doubt the sister to the Vibratex Rosebud. This brand new Vibratex toy is made in Japan, and comes from the makers of the original rabbit style vibrator the Vibratex Rabbit Habit. This toy is made of body-safe white ABS plastic on the handle and control panel of the toy, and a soft smooth to the touch matte silicone that comes in a really pretty violet color. This toy is made of hygienic and safe materials, and features a dual stimulator design which offers both clitoral and vaginal stimulation. This toy also boasts two motors, one in the shaft of the toy and another in the clitoral stimulator. It offers 4 speeds that range from a low buzz to a stronger medium-high vibration, along with 5 vibration patterns that go from a pulsing buzz to a more long drawn on flutter. The shape of the toy offers a smooth rounded slightly tapered tip for easy insertion, the rounded head features a bulbed shape that is also lightly curved so it’s ideal for G-spot stimulation. The toy gets a little thinner as it moves down the shaft of the toy, and then meets the clioral stimulator which features nubs just inside the inner portion of the clitoral arm of the toy, and and opened little “mouth” on the bud of the clitoral arm that features a delicate little “wing” that adds to the clitoral and vulva stimulation. This modernized “rabbit” style dual stimulator is meant to be more like it’s flower counterpart than a fluffy little bunny though ;) The toy measures about 7 inches in length, with 4 inches being insertable, with a width of 1.4 at it’s thickest point. It requires 4 AAA batteries which are inserted at the bottom of the toy’s handle, simply twist the endcap off and insert the batteries. The toy is not waterproof nor splashproof, so be careful when cleaning the toy. You can clean it with an anti-bacterial toy wipe, cleanser, or anti-bacterial soap and water. Do not boil or clean in the dishwasher. This toy works best with water-based lubricants, which will prolong the texture and feel of the delightfully smooth silicone.

Each part of the toy, both the shaft and the clitoral stimulator, are controlled separately. There are three buttons on each side, one side being the shaft of the toy for vaginal insertion, and the other being the clitoral stimulator for external stimulation. F1, On/Up, Off. F2, On/Up, Off. There are small little lights that will light up above each side of the control that light up to let you know that part of the toy is turned on and vibrating. To navigate the vibration patterns and speeds simple press and browse through the middle button, and to turn the toy off at any time, simply press and Off button. You can also power one side of the toy with a more intense vibration, or a different vibration setting while the other side vibrates at a different speed or pattern. You can leave one side off, and just enjoy the vibration of the internal shaft or the clitoral shaft as well. I like that you can basically customize how you want this toy to vibrate, using the separate control panels. The buttons are pretty easy to push, even with lube on your fingers, and the handle is large enough for grasping and getting a good handle on the toy, the grooves on the handle of the toy also make for easier grip while holding the toy You can aim the inner shaft upward to stimulate your G-spot, and the toy thrusts nicely when you move it in and out. Every woman’s anatomy is not the same, some clits are down further or up higher, hooded more or exposed more, and some inner and outer labia are fuller, so that seems to be the deal breaker with most dual stimulation vibrators  – finding a dual stimulator that fits and adjusts to every woman. The Vibratex Violet vibrator is one of the better dual stimulators that I’ve tried. I like the shape of the shaft, and the clitoral stimulator is flexible, allowing for you to move it to envelope and nuzzle your clit at whatever angle works best for you. Also, with the added wing that flicks nicely during vibration adds more area for the clitoral stimulator to cover. I’m really impressed with this vibrator, this may be my current favorite Vibratex vibe. The color is pretty, the design and shape is unique an stimulating, and the contours and shape of the clitoral arm massages the vulva area really nicely. The toy isn’t whisper quiet, but it’s also not what I would call loud. You should be just fine to use this toy with roommates in the other room. The control buttons are easy to navigate, and the toy offers nice vibration. Definitely a cool new toy from Vibratex.

You can find the Vibratex Violet at SheVibe.com for $$69.99 – She Vibe offers fast shipping and quality service and has great prices on sex toys and more.

OhMiBod Naughtibod 2.Oh (2nd gen Naughtibod)

October 18th, 2011 @ Amber St. Clare

When I saw that the OhMiBod Naughtibod had been redesigned, I wanted to check it out. The OhMiBod Naughtibod 2.OH is not only cleverly named, but also even nicer looking than it’s first in command. This new Naughtibod still comes in bright colors, and still offers a smooth surface coating of PU over a harder ABS plastic frame. There is no metallic colored endcap, like the previous design, instead this design is fully made of the smooth exterior including the metallic colored trim of the endcap which screws off for you to insert the batteries (2 AAA). The control buttons are also different than the last model, on this 2.OH version there are plastic buttons Up/Down. The buttons are two in one, being more of a user friendly interface. It comes with a velvety OhMiBod storage pouch, user manual, and cord that allows for use up to 3 feet. The toy can be used with or without music, as it features 7 programmed vibration patterns that go from steady vibration to more of a slower or faster pulse pattern. The toy measures a little over 6 inches in length, with about 4.5 inches insertable, and measures 1 inch at it’s widest point. It’s a slim vibrator that features a ripple shaped shaft for added texture and stimulation. The toy can be used for external clitoral stimulation, or it can be inserted for vaginal penetration. The rounded tip makes for easier insertion, and even though the shaft isn’t curved, you can aim the head of the toy upward if you want to use it for G-spot stimulation. To clean the toy, wipe it down with a sex toy wipe or spray, or anti-bacterial soap and water. Be sure not to get water into the battery compartment, as the toy is not waterproof. You can also wipe the toy down with a solution made of 10% alcohol to 90% water. Dry with a lint-free cloth. You can use both water-based or silicone lubricant with this toy as well.

The OhMiBod Naughtibod works with your iPhone, iPod, or any other audio output including plugging it into a radio, CD player (does anyone use those anymore?), or even your computer. The long cord connects from the base of the endcap of the toy, and plugs into your audio output of choice. Once plugged in, you can turn on iTunes or any other music or sound file, and once the toy is turned on, the toy will vibration to the rhythm and beat of the music/audio. If you don’t want to use music/sound with the toy, you can use it in manual mode, turn the toy on, and use the up/down buttons to browse through the different vibration speeds and patterns. This toy isn’t super powerful, at it’s highest it’s still pretty moderate, but really this toy is meant more for the fun technology and music play than for it’s speed and power. It’s a fun way to get off to music, your favorite movie, or even your lover’s voice (Skype, anyone?). The toy is small and discreet and can easily fit in your nightstand or drawer. The shape and size aren’t intimidating and would be ideal for newbies or those who love music. I used this toy both manually and with music, and I definitely had more fun with the music mode (Duh, It’s marketed as a music vibe for a reason). In manual mode, it was easy to change the vibration settings with the press of a button even with lube on my fingers and in use. This toy’s vibrations are on the weaker side and definitely aren’t as strong as it’s big sister vibe, the OhMiBod Freestyle G, so if you need a lot of vibration to get off internally or like a curved tip for G-spot stim, you might enjoy this toy on your clit more. You can turn the music on and let the toy bee bop against your clit as you change songs, or the tempo picks up. A fun and affordable way to try an OhMiBod toy for the first time. You can get the OhMiBod Naughtibod for $43.95 at Fun Wares!

Review: LELO Insignia Lyla Wireless Egg Vibrator

October 9th, 2011 @ Amber St. Clare

It’s finally here. The new LELO Insignia toy line with SenseMotion technology. I’ve been psyched over this release ever since I first heard of it a few months back, and the toys just became available to the market in September. Put your seat belts on, this is going to be one long review (both smooth and bumpy). The LELO Insignia Lyla is one of three brand new LELO Insignia toys, all wireless, and featuring LELO’s new patented SenseMotion technology. LELO Lyla is designed similar to a egg vibe, it features a silver colored ABS plastic end with an attached retrieval pull cord that is made of plastic and secured within the silver end cap of the toy. The slightly tapered egg design is made of a lovely soft smooth silicone, with a soft tapered tip for ease of insertion, and a slightly thicker middle, getting smaller and tapered again near the base of the massager. The massager is not seamless, the silver colored endcap is meant to be twisted off, which reveals a charging port for the toy. This is where you plug the charger in, and then plug it into a wall for the egg to charge for a few hours. The entire egg is smooth to the touch, with a seamless wireless button near the base. The toy is wireless, and uses a remote control to power the toy. The remote control is a round flat silicone sphere that features the LELO Insignia shape on one side, with the Insignia button in the center, along with a +/ on either side. The control buttons are seamless and easy to press. If you flip the remote control over, it has a silver colored ABS plastic cover, this is where you insert the batteries for the controller. The toy comes with a small black plastic remote key, the “key” can be pressed into the groove on top of the battery compartment and twisted to open the compartment. The remote requires 2 AAA batteries, once inserted, you can close the compartment using the black key again.

Like all other LELO toys, this toy comes with a 1 year warranty in case anything should happen to the toy. While the vibrator and the controller are mostly made of silicone, they do feature ABS plastic as well, and though it’s body-safe, it’s not ideal for boiling to sterilize and nor would I put it in the dishwasher. So you can clean this toy the old fashioned way with anti-bacterial soap and water, toy cleanser, or the a toy wipe of your choice. You can alternatively wipe it down with an 90% water to 10% alcohol wash. Dry the toy completely with a lint-free towel. This toy is waterproof, but to be on the safe side be sure not to get water into the battery compartment on the controller or into the groove along the bottom of the vibrator where the charging port endcap meets the silicone shaft. This toy works best with water-based lubricant, so steer clear of silicone lubes when using Lyla. Lyla also comes with a sample packet of LELO’s name brand lubricant, and a user manual which you will indeed need to read to learn how to use the toy, as well as a black satin storage pouch, and a silver LELO Insignia brooch which comes with all LELO Insignia toys. It all comes neatly packaged in the signature LELO little black box (like the little black dress of sex toys).

Lyla and her accessories

Lyla with the charging cap removed and charger plugged in

Close up of the Lyla egg vibe and remote control

With most LELO toys, it’s easy to get started using the toy, even without reading the user manual (I think I’ve yet to fully read a LELO toy user manual until now) but with Lyla, I highly suggest reading it to completely understand how the toy works. Lyla uses the new SenseMotion technology that none of the previous LELO toys have used before and because of that using Lyla requires a little extra attention. After inserting the batteries into Lyla’s remote controller, and charging the Lyla vibrator fully, you can begin using the toy. Hold the remote control in your hand, and press the + key on the remote, once it lights up, press and hold the wireless button the base of the Lyla vibrator until it lights up. It’s hard to see the tiny button in the photos above, so here is a close up of the wireless button on Lyla’s base.

Wireless button ((o))

SenseMotion Mode #1: After you press the wireless button, it should take a few seconds and then the remote control and Lyla will be synched and ready for use. This turns Lyla onto it’s first SenseMotion mode. Once in this mode, you’ll feel the remote buzz lightly in your hand, and then Lyla will begin buzzing as well, on it’s low setting. Then as you move the remote control from a flat in your palm movement, and move the remote control upward or downward the vibration will intensify to decrease. If you want to browse through the vibration modes, click the middle button, then continue to move the controller up and down to intensify or slow down the vibration speed. Highest vibration speed being at a 90 degree angle. Lyla has a wireless range of nearly 40 feet, so even your lover at the other end of the room could hold the remote and move their hand while Lyla buzzes against you. Lyla can be used externally and held against the clit, or internally and inserted vaginally, which is why it comes with a handy retrieval cord. This goes without saying I hope, but Lyla is *not* meant for internal anal use unless the thought of a surprise trip to the ER to remove it sounds fun to you ;)

SenseMotion Mode #2: Lyla can also be used in a round/circular motion. You can shake the controller to intensify vibration as well. To do this, after turning Lyla on and the remote control on, you can twist the controller in your hand and shake it on a rounded movement or circular motion which will create all sorts of different vibrations speeds and pulses to stimulate you. Lyla can be teased against the nipples, neck, breasts, clit, all over the vulva and vagina. It can be held against a man’s penis or balls as well. This toy is more ideal for couples play, in my opinion, rather than solo use, which I’ll explain in a moment.

Manual Mode: You can also use Lyla manually rather than using the SenseMotion technology. Rather than pressing and holding the + button to turn the controller on, instead press and hold the middle Insignia button, it will turn on a steady stream of vibration. Then continue to press the + button until you find a speed you like best, and to switch vibration modes and browse through all of the 6 different vibration modes that you’ll probably be familiar with if you’re already a LELO fan. It comes from a buzzing to a pulsing to an almost musical beat of vibrating rhythms. To turn the toy off, simply press and hold the – button on the remote for a few seconds. To turn the Lyla egg off, you must also press the hold the wireless button on the base of Lyla’s shaft. This is probably the mode you’ll want to be in if you’re using the toy solo, rather than having to move your hand and the controller. Also, the controller vibrates at the same frequency as the Lyla does, so essentially the remote vibrates along with the actual egg toy. I’ll explain why in a moment.

Pros and Cons: I think the SenseMotion technology is really cool, I like the idea of a remote control vibrator that responds to just a flick of the wrist. I think Lyla is best as a warm up toy for me when used for masturbation, as the new SenseMotion toys are most definitely marketed as couples massagers and for good reason. When I am seriously horny and wanna get off quickly, I think Lyla might require too much of my time and attention to truly focus on my pussy. I also did notice the Lyla losing it’s connection to the remote at some points, where the Lyla would just stop buzzing, and then I’d have to move the remote closer to the toy, then the Lyla would begin buzzing again. To me, it seemed as though the remote literally could be feet way from the toy, but still had to be in line within view of it. For example, if I was lying on my stomach with the Lyla beneath me against my clit,  the vibration was far from dependable.  I would have loved if the remote control was rechargeable like the toy, rather than needing batteries. The rechargeable options among LELO toys are so convenient, so having to use batteries, even if it’s just in the controller, was a little surprising. The remote control vibrating along with the Lyla egg was a bit distracting when I used this as a solo toy, because with both the remote and the toy buzzing, it seemed a lot louder than any of my other LELO toys. Now, I understand why this happens, because the SenseMotion toys are meant to be used as couples toys, so the remote is meant to show one partner exactly what the other partner using the Lyla is feeling. I get that, I really do, and it wasn’t super loud, but compared to how whisper quiet most other LELO toys are, the Lyla and it’s remote control sadly caused quite a ruckus, more so than I am used to when it comes to LELO toys. If you use the toy in Manual mode, you can turn the vibration off on the remote control by pressing and holding the middle insignia button until it begins to flash. However, I had trouble doing it when the toy was in SenseMotion mode, so as far as I could see it only worked in Manual mode and even then it was a bit shoddy. At times, it seemed like the Lyla was buzzing at a slightly less intense frequency than the remote control also, at times it felt was though Lyla’s vibrations were a little weaker than the vibrations that the remote control were causing in my hand.

If you’ve read my blog before, you probably know that I *adore* all things LELO. LELO and me are tight, we’re homies, we’re practically family. I love the fun aspect of the SenseMotion, there is no other toy line like it on the market, offering vibration control with simple motion. I like the shape of the Lyla and the fact that it can be used as an internal vaginal vibe or an external clit vibe. I like the color options, and the rumbly and resonating vibrations that Lyla causes, but I feel like I have to let Lyla know that I would have liked it if the end cap and the battery compartment would have been silicone or stainless steel rather than silver ABS plastic and I would have liked a more intense vibration motor. I was hoping this toy could be used in public, slipping the Lyla into my panties so that a partner could hold the remote and stimulate me in a crowded room, but I couldn’t give it a try due to the slightly louder vibrations that come from the remote control paired with the fact that it seemed like the vibration would stop in Lyla if the egg vibe is “covered up” be flesh or even clothing. When you buy the LELO Lyla vibrator you’re getting a body-safe luxury toy, from a company that I consider to be a trusted sex toy manufacturer, paired with this new unique technology, so it’s definitely a fun and modern sex toy, albeit with a few flaws that left me feeling underwhelmed.

LELO Lyla retails for $139, but Fun Wares has it for $109.95! Thats nearly 30 dollars off the retail price, so if you plan on trying the toy for yourself, I highly suggest enjoying this discount. FunWares.com also offers fast and discreet shipping.

PicoBong by LELO Mahana Dual Vibe

October 8th, 2011 @ Amber St. Clare

As a long time fan of LELO, I have just about their entire product line, which offers designs that are luxurious, classy, and stimulating. LELO recently created a few sex toy lines that are more affordable yet still offer quality sex toys to get you off in style. Introducing the PicoBong by LELO line, fusing modern and fun LELO designs with lower cost. The PicoBong line still offers great toys, but at a fraction of LELO’s luxury line cost, and offers battery operated toys rather than rechargeable ones. I recently got to review the PicoBong Mahana Dual Vibrator, which is very similar in design to LELO’s Insignia Tiani toy. This dual stimulator is meant for internal and external use. The fun U shape is meant to be inserted with one end into the vagina, and the other end pressing against the vulva and clit. This toy is made of silicone on both ends, and ABS plastic in the middle part of the toy that holds the two ends together. One arm of the toy features the PicoBong logo engraved into the smooth silicone. The Mahana requires 2 AAA batteries that are inserted into each end of the U shape design, so that both arms of the toy vibrate simultaneously. The toy comes in three different colors to choose from: Blue, Pink, or Black. I chose Blue, because it’s my favorite color, and hard to find among sex toys. The packaging is cute and matches the corresponding toy inside. The toy also comes with a user manual to tell you how to use the toy, as well as a fun little PicoBong dice that features each of the PicoBong toys on either side of the dice.

Since the toy has silicone over each end of the toy, it’s best to use this toy with water-based lubricant. This toy is also waterproof up to 1 meter of water! So not only can you use this toy in the bathtub, shower, or poolside, this toy is also pretty easy to clean. You can wipe it down with a  sex toy wipe, toy cleansing spray, anti-bacterial soap and water, or your favorite toy cleanser of choice. Don’t boil this toy, as it has ABS plastic on it, and because of the internal motor, it’s probably also best not to wash this toy in the dishwasher. Be sure to carefully clean the seam at the bottom of each arm of the toy as well, to make sure bacteria or lubricant doesn’t get stuck there. Dry the toy with a lint-free cloth. Mahana, like all LELO toys, comes with a 1 year warranty in case anything goes wrong with the vibe. Mahana has 12 different vibration patterns and speeds to browse through, and it can all be done with the push of a button which rests on the lower side of one of the ends of the toy. To use the toy, simply insert the one end into your pussy, and situate the other end to rest against your vulva and clit just the way you like it to. The Mahana’s neck is the middle that holds both ends together isn’t super stretchy, but the ABS plastic there does have some give to it so that it can stretch if it needs to, to fit each woman’s outer/inner labia shape and size. The toy is pretty quiet, and won’t be heard through a closed door or anything, and the vibration strength is quite nice and rumbly, like a lot of the toys in the LELO luxury line. Mahana is body-safe, features a pretty candy colored design, and offers a fun dual stimulating style. The fun little dice that is included can be used for whatever you like, and since each side of the dice shows a different PicoBong toy, if you collect the entire line of PicoBong toys, you could roll the dice and see which toy comes up and then use that one for a little added spontaneity.  A great way to use Mahana is to insert the toy and as it vibrates against your clit and inside of your pussy, you can grind your hips, or straddle a pillow or sex furniture and moves your hips as Mahana stimulates you inside and out. This is a nice toy if you can’t afford LELO’s more pricy luxury line, but still want a quality sex toy. While it’s not my favorite LELO toy, and I’ve grown spoiled by the rechargeable features of the original LELO line, it’s a great affordable alternative. If you’re going to choose an affordable sex toy, it taks some time to shop around to find one that is body-safe, and comes with a stimulating design and performance, but with PicoBong the search is over. Not everyone has the budget for luxury sex toys, and with the PicoBong line, LELO gives you a chance to have a nice sex toy collection at a fraction of the cost so that you don’t have to compromise quality for price. Awesome new line, can’t wait to try the other PicoBong toys! Recommended to all LELO fans, and to those who have never been in the budget for a LELO toy? Nows your chance!

The PicoBong range of toys all retail for under $100, and Fun Wares has the PicoBong Mahana vibrator for only $51.95!

Review: Fun Factory Yooo

September 17th, 2011 @ Amber St. Clare

Candy colored vibrators? Yes please. This fun new vibrator from Fun Factory is unique, rechargeable, and cute. Made of quality body-safe silicone, this vibe comes in 4 bright colors: Blue, Orange, Pink, and Green. Fun Factory, the German based sex toy company, is known for creating interesting sex toy shapes with fun colors and textures, so I was really interested in reviewing the Fun Factory Yooo for She Vibe. This vibrator kind of looks like a naughty Mickey Mouse, with a rounded bubble shape. The shape is similar to their Bubbles vibrator, except the design is round, small, and meant for external stimulation. Not only is this toy made of soft smooth silicone, but it’s also waterproof and safe for shower or bathtub fun. This vibrator uses the Fun Factory Click n’ Charge system, which features a magnetic charging port. No need to plug the charger into the toy, instead the toy is seamless, no holes or ports, and you simply attach one end of the charger on the metal “fun” logo on the top of the toy. Plug the other end of the charger into a wall outlet and let the toy charge a few hours until you’re ready to use it. I really like the charger, the magnetic features works with all Fun Factory Click n Charge toys, and it’s easy to use, and makes recharging a snap.

The entire body of the toy is rounded and curved, making for a luscious and pretty toy that is meant to please. Since the toy is made of silicone, it’s compatible with water-based lubricants, and since it’s waterproof, clean up is a breeze. Silicone is non-porous and doesn’t hold bacteria like plastic or rubber toys can, so cleaning it with anti-bacterial soap and water, a sex toy cleaner wipe, a water to bleach solution, or a liquid sex toy cleanser will work just fine. This massager fits in the palm of your hand, and measures nearly 5 inches in length and 2.5 inches in width, with the widest part being one of the asymmetrical bubble shapes. The silicone material of the toy is smooth and soft and scent-free. The Yooo feels nice all over the body as a massager as well, the curved body fits the female form nicely, and you can use it to massage your necks, breasts, stomach and legs. The rounded curves would also be great for stimulating a man’s ass, perineum, balls and shaft. The Fun Factoy Yooo vibrator offers two motors, one in each of the asymmetrical bubbles for added stimulation and power. The white handle is easy to hold onto, and the user control fits seamlessly and easy to press on the top of the toy.

The toy comes with instructions, and a packet of free Fun Factory ToyFluid Lubricant. The controls on top of the toy feature 3 raised buttons, one for turbo boost, and then +/- buttons. Pretty straight forward and easy to understand. To turn the toy on, simply press + button, this is also how you browse through the toys different vibration speeds and vibration modes, to lower speed or to go back to a previous vibration setting, just use the – button. Then there is the turbo boost button that is an asterisk * will intensify the vibrations no matter what speed setting you are on. Turbo is for an amped up version of whichever speed level you like best, simply press the button and let the vibration intensify. The toy can be a bit loud, not Hitachi loud or anything, but definitely not whisper quiet. The vibration patterns are nice and offer variety, while the speeds go from a low to a nice high that is pretty powerful. The vibrations are more rumbly than pitchy and buzzy, which I consider to be a good thing. I also like the fact that the toy is waterproof. I found it really great for clit stimulation, and with the three balls (like the O’s in the name Yooo), it allows you to arrange the toy against your vulva as you see fit. I found that I could rest the entire toy on my pussy from clit to perineum to enjoy vibration over my entire pussy. The turbo boost button was fun and a cute little addition that did indeed create a more intense vibration. The buttons can be a hit hard to press because they’re firm and bubbled, so with super lubed up hands some slippage can occur, but nothing too annoying.

I think this is such a cute toy! It’s unique and colorful, and it’s discreet enough that if you left it on your desk or dresser no one would really think it was a vibrator. It could also look like a triple stress ball ;) It’s rechargeable, no need for batteries, which is a huge plus for me, and since I can use it in the shower or bathtub it adds a lot of variety. The silicone feels luscious against the skin, and the handle fits nicely in the palm of my hand, making it easy to rub the toy against my pussy, or grind my hips and vulva against the toy. This is a fun unisex toy that even men can use for vibration around the outer anus, or beneath the balls. You could also give your lover oral sex and use this on his shaft for added stimulation. A woman could hold the Yooo against her clit while enjoying anal sex or vaginal penetration from behind. Two women could also use this toy during tribbing or grinding, since each of the rounded bubbles on the toy feature their own motor providing vibration to both partners. The toy isn’t large or chunky, so it could also fit between two bodies, making it ideal for clitoral stimulation during sex. This has become one of my favorite Fun Factory toys.

SheVibe.com has the Fun Factory Yooo on sale for $98.99, and they also offer discreet and fast shipping. I also love She Vibe’s adorable graphics on their website, so fun!

LELO Toy of the Month: Liv

September 15th, 2011 @ Amber St. Clare

I love all things LELO, and usually every month I’ll give a little extra special time to a specific Lelo toy, this month I’ve been reaching for Liv. Lelo Liv is one of the first Lelo toy designs, it features an easy to use interface, and like all other Lelo toys it comes with a limited 1 year warranty. I’ve used the warranty on a Lelo product before, and they do make good on the warranty. So buy with confidence. Liv comes packaged in the signature Lelo little black box, it’s fully rechargeable, and it’s splashproof. So while it isn’t a waterproof toy, it can be used in the shower or bath with care, as long as you’re sure not to get moisture into the charging port. The toy comes with a user manual, charger, and a nice satin storage pouch. The handle of the toy is made of body-safe ABS plastic, and it features a silicone shaft. The shaft of the toy is slightly curved, with a pin-pointed tapered tip. This toy works great with water-based lubricant, and it can be cleaned up with anti-bacterial soap and water, just be sure not to get water into the charging port that is on the end of the toy’s handle. It features a silicone cap that hides the port, but it’s not a waterproof seal, so clean the toy with caution. I love using the LELO Anti-bacterial Toy Spray on this toy, as well as Devine Toy Tissues. Both making cleaning the toy a breeze, without worry about getting moisture into the charging plug. The toy measures 6 inches in length and 1.25 inches around, so it’s a slim toy that would be great for a vibrator beginner. There isn’t a flared base on this toy, so while the shape and body would be great for anal stimulation, I wouldn’t recommend it, though you can tease the toy of the toy against the anus. This toy even feels great on the neck, breasts, nipples and perineum. You can also hold this toy against a man’s shaft or balls while you give him oral sex. It’s an awesome solo toy, but it’s a beautiful luxury vibe that is great for couples as well.

The color of this particular Liv is a cobalt blue color, and it’s made of smooth and sleek silicone that is so soft to the touch. Charging this toy is easy, just unplug the silicone plug at the charging port and plug one end into the toy, while you plug the charger into an electric outlet. The toy offers 5 different vibration modes, ones that range from a very light pulse to a more intense rumbly vibe. The vibration intensity, even at the highest setting, isn’t super powerful, but they resonate so wonderfully that their vibrations send me over the edge every time. A two hour charge gives you 4 hours of use, maybe a little less if you use the toy on it’s highest speed, which I do. The user interface is easy to use as well, and the buttons are easy to push even during use. You can lock the toy by pressing and holding down the +/- button at the same time for three seconds. This makes it easy for travel, and even for taking your toy on the go in a suitcase or overnight bag, so you don’t have to worry about the toy turning itself on. To unlock the toy, simply hold and press the same buttons for a few seconds again. Press the up/down buttons to browse through the 5 vibration modes that go from a simple pulse to a more rumbly buzz. Press the +/- buttons to browse through the vibration speeds, from a low to a moderate-high. The toy is super quiet as well, it’s one of the reasons I love my Lelo toys, you can use them discreetly without worry of someone hearing the vibration. The control button is no seamless, so be sure to keep water from seeping into the edges.

I’ve been reaching for my Liv very often, thats why I picked it for my LELO Toy of the Month. Liv doesn’t get as much praise as a lot of the other LELO toys, so I wanted to showcase the toy and let you all know why Liv rocks my world. I love nuzzling the tip of Liv against my clit, and have climaxed many times that way. When using the toy internally, the curved upward design makes it nice for G-spot stimulation, and the pin-pointed tip is good for G-spot thrusting. I adore my Liv, and keep it in my bedside table for impromptu masturbation sessions. The toy is also small enough that it can fit between two bodies during sex, or you can hold the tip of Liv against your clit or slide it into your vagina while your lover enters your ass (or pussy if you’re using the toy on your clit) from behind. A fantastic pick for solo or couples play. I’ve even used this toy in the shower, using it away from the spray of water. You can also use Liv in the bathtub as long as you don’t submerse the handle, just be sure to keep water out of the port. If you happen to accidentally get a little moisture or water into the port, my tip is so use a Q-tip to try and absorb water at the opening, and then blow gently into the port, which can force water out of the hole. You can also use a toy on your clit if you use Liv internally, you can use the Lelo Nea or lily against your clit for an ultra sexy LELO duo.

Toyfriend Shorty

September 9th, 2011 @ Amber St. Clare

Who you callin’ shorty? The Toyfriend Shorty is from the 4th collection of Toyfriends, the Extended Toyfriends, since they are dual stimulators. Shorty is the smaller of the two Extended Friends and measures in at just a little over 5 inches in length, with a rabbit ear stimulator for external stimulation and a curved arm that extends up and out as an internal G-spot stimulator. Shorty is made of body-safe silicone, requires 1 N battery (included), and comes in a sleek smooth black finish. This vibe is also waterproof and can be used in the shower or tub. It’s best used with water-based lube, and clean up nicely with anti-bacterial soap and water. When it comes to looks, quite frankly, Shorty looks like the Toyfriend Bunny vibrator who got into a fight with Mike Tyson and lost an ear, plus grew a giant boner. See my photo comparison below. You can see the pink Toyfriend Bunny to the left, and Toyfriend Shorty to the right. They are similar in size and shape except for Shorty having one bunny ear and the extendable.

Shorty has a more pronounced ear that is a bit longer than Bunny’s, and the rabbit nose on Shorty is more prominent also. They are around the same length and girth, and both have a screw off endcap on the bottom where you insert/remove the battery. The base of the cap is the power button also. Press it to turn the toy on/off. Like Bunny, Shorty is pretty darn quiet in sound. Also like Bunny, Shorty offers only one speed and it’s not too powerful. It’s what I would consider a low speed setting, not quite enough to really get me off, but for those who don’t need a lot of power or for those with sensitive clits/vaginas this would be just fine. The curved arm is a bit floppy at the part where it meets the base of the toy shaft, the thin part of the silicone there is thinner than the more girthy part of the curved arm, so it can make the toy a bit top heavy. Also, the one ear on the rabbit may not reach every woman’s clit and could be poke too hard against the vagina if you thrust with the toy. As every woman’s different, and you know your vagina better than I do (Hi vagina, nice to meet ya!), you’ll be a better judge as to whether this will work for you or not. This isn’t the best toy for thrusting, but it still can provide vaginal and Gspot stimulation once inserted. You can even use the rabbit ear on Shorty just against your clit and hold onto the curved part as a handle rather than using that end internally. You could also use the curved end anally or use Shorty’s rabbit ear (little bunny Van Gogh!) to stimulate your anus. Be sure to sanitize properly in between vagina to ass use, or use a condom over the toy for easier clean up! If you like the shape and feel of Shorty but think it lacks the power to get you off, you could also hold a electric massager like the Fairy Wand or Hitachi Magic Wand against the base of the rabbit head to add vibration that can travel through the body of the toy.

Toyfriend Shorty is available at Fun Wares for $38.95!

Review: OhMiBod Freestyle W

September 4th, 2011 @ Amber St. Clare

As soon as I saw the new OhMiBod Freestyle W I was certain that I needed it. As a surfer, I’m drawn to all things ocean/waves. Blue is also my favorite color, so this beautiful vibrator design interested me as first glance. I’m also a big fan of Suki, the creator behind the fabulous OhMiBod brand, as her designs are always so unique and fun. Like the OhMiBod Freestyle and Freestyle G, this is the third in a series of rechargeable OhMiBod toys. This vibrator is made of body-safe silicone and ABS plastic. The blue colored shaft of the toy is smooth and soft silicone, while the white handle is hard plastic The handle features a raised OhMiBod logo on the back, and the front of the handle features a control button, while the tip of the handle features the charging port. This is where you plus the charger into the recharge the sex toy, which you can do from any electric outlet. The silicone shaft looks similar to a wave rippling on the shaft, the internal part of the toy, while the rounded part on top is a clitoral stimulator meant for clit stimulation. This is the first dual stimulation toy in the OhMiBod collection, and I gotta say, it’s a beauty!

Since the toy is made of mostly silicone, it’s compatible with water-based lubricant only. From end to end, this toy measures a little over 8 inches, with 5 inches being insertable. The shaft is 1.5 inches in diameter at it’s thickest point. The vibrator is also splash-proof, which means it’s not waterproof, so it’s best to keep it out of the shower or tub. You can clean this toy with anti-bacterial soap and water toy cleanser, or toy wipes. Just be sure not to get moisture or water into the charging port or the control button. This toy also comes with a three year limited warranty in case there is a problem with the toy being damaged. Like all other OhMiBod toys, this toy is music compatible. You can plug it into your iPhone or iPod, computer, etc and let the toy vibrate along to sound. You can also use this toy wirelessly, no need to plug it in if you use the wireless transmitter that is included with the toy, it will vibrate to sounds and music from up to 25 feet away. The toy can also be used without music or sound, it comes with 4 programmed vibration settings that go from a short pulse to a long drawn out buzz. The vibrator also has 3 speeds from low to medium to high.

The toy also comes in a satin storage pouch, a user manual, charger, transmitter, and international adapters so that you can use this toy from any electrical outlet in any country if you travel. Cool huh? The toy features two motors, one in the shaft that is used internally and one in the clitoral stimulator. This design is similar to the rabbit vibrator style that made dual stimulators so popular, but this fun and functionality design is a really cool and unique take on it! I also like the curved shape of the clitoral stimulator, as the trouble with some stimulators is that it might not reach every woman’s clit since every vagina is different. The shaft is slightly curved upward as well, so it can be used for G-spot stimulation. The rippled wave design along the shaft adds fun texture which feels really nice when moving the toy in and out. The control button looks similar to a flower outline with buttons to press up/down and left/right. There is an Off button on the bottom, Up and down buttons to the left and right, which is how you browse through the vibration speeds and vibration modes. The two buttons at the top are for using the toy with music, you press the music symbol, and to use the toy manually without music you press the button to the right. I really like the vibration on the highest setting, i think the vibration moves nicely through the silicone shaft of the toy. The motor in each part of the toy work in tandem to create waves of pleasure from the vulva and clit all the way through the walls of the vagina. The vibrator isn’t whisper quiet, but it’s definitely not loud, and shouldn’t be heard through a closed down. The vibration intensity is nice, it’s not super intense even at it’s highest setting, but the vibrations resonate nice enough to give me a fantastic orgasm, especially since my pussy can get greedy and devour the vibration of the shaft’s motor, while the clit gets another motor all to itself.

I think this might be my very favorite OhMiBod vibrator to date! The design is beautiful, the color is bright, the control buttons are easy to press and maneuver, the dual design offers stimulation both externally and internally, and the two motors add extra oomph. I like the modern design, and the beautiful rippled waves on the shaft feel fantastic as they slide in and out of my body. The slightly curved tip means that I can focus on thrusting against my G-spot, or I can just enjoy the waves moving in and out undulating inside of my pussy with added texture. I like using it in manual mode, and the pulsation modes programmed in the toy are really fun to use even without music. With music, or any sound at all, meaning you can also use this with your computer which means it’s Skype compatible and sound/voice compatible if used with your cellphone. Ladies, this is one wave you really wanna catch!

Hang ten, baby!

The OhMiBod Freestyle W is available for purchase now! Fun Wares has it for only $109.95 – thats an awesome deal, best price I’ve seen for it online so far!

Evolved Novelties Symphony G Harmony

September 2nd, 2011 @ Amber St. Clare

I think this might actually be the first Evolved Novelties toys I’ve featured on Scarlet’s Letter! Whoa, so now is a good time to get a review up here. I recently got the Evolved Novelties Symphony G Harmony vibe, packaged in a cute tin container with two locking clips on either side. The container is red and has the Evolved logo right on the front, with a small see-through window that shows you the shaft of the toy. The Symphony G Harmony measures in at 7 inches, with about 6 inches insertable length, with a 1.5 inch girth. It’s a pretty translucent purple color, with the shaft being made of a TPR material that feels similar to jelly (though it’s not jelly, just say no to jelly toys!) and a endcap that is smooth and feels similar to velvet cote material. The toy requires two AA batteries, which are not included. BYOB, ladies. Bring Your Own Batteries. The shaft of the toy is pliable and has some give to it, the top is smooth but has a few ripples near the end of the toy, and the head of the vibe is curved for G-spot stimulation. The toy container says that the toy is body-safe and phthalates free, it also says the that toy is waterproof. Once the endcap is secured in place after you insert the batteries, this toy can be used in the tub or shower. However, I wouldn’t’ submerge it just because of the endcap. Toys like these are more what I consider to be splashproof, waterproof, but not submersible as water could enter the battery compartment.

The toy can be cleaned with anti-bacterial soap and water, toy cleanser, or a sex toy wipe. Alternatively, you could wipe it down with an isopropyl alcohol to water solution. Be sure not to get water into the endcap. The endcap unscrews to insert batteries, and it’s also the handle to hold onto while using the toy. It’s also how you turn the toy on/off as well. There is a little button on the endcap that can be pressed to turn the toy on, off, to browse through the 3 vibration speeds. This vibrator is pretty quiet, even on the highest setting, and it plays well with both water, oil, and silicone based lubricants. The curve on the tip of the toy is slight, which may be ideal for some, unlike you like direct hard stimulation on your G-spot, then the softer material with the slight curve might not hit you just right. I think this toy is really cute. I like the simple button control on the tip of the endcap, though the vibration intensity even on the highest setting was what I would consider pretty mild/moderate. I like the translucent color of the toy, and the fact that you can see the toy’s motor inside.

It also looks like the tip of the toy has a metal insert, possibly so that when the motor vibrates the toy, the vibrations travel through the metal to resonate. Which would make sense, since since the toy is called the Symphony G Harmony which reminds me of music and the way that music vibrates when the harmonics of a standing wave of music are struck through metal such as a Triangle musical instrument (you know, like they had it music class in school). This toy didn’t know me over with it’s power, but I really liked the feeling of the toy once inserted. The shape of the toy was pleasant, and the ease of holding onto the endcap when thrusting was simple. The toy’s material isn’t very firm, so for some it may be a bit floppy to give true pressure to the G-spot, but overall I liked the feel of this toy, and found that I liked the tip of the toy against my clit and my nipples even more so than I may have liked it pressed against my G-spot. Definitely a cute toy for my first Evolved Novelties product.

You can get the Evolved Symphony G Harmony for $41.95 at FunWares.com
