Ophoria Beyond 1 G-spot Vibrator

March 17th, 2011 @ Amber St. Clare

From Ophoria Toys, comes the Ophoria Beyond 1, a beautifully sculpted silicone G-spot vibrator. With a simple one touch control, this vibrator is sleek, pretty, and aimed for G0spot pleasure. The base of the toy features an easy to press button for you to control the vibration, with a comfortable handle for holding onto for thrusting. The curved end of the Beyond 1 is curled upward to reach the G-spot. This feels like a real luxury toy from Ophoria’s adult line. I’m familiar with their silicone dildos, so I was looking forward to giving this vibe a try. First off, the toy takes 2 AA batteries, which are easy to insert. It comes with a velveteen pouch for storage, and a user manual. The vibe is a little over 7 inches in length, and it measures 1.5 inches wide at it’s thickest point (the curved tip). The toy is pretty lightweight in the hand, and I thought it was comfortable to hold onto for the most part. Ophoria has a nice handle for grasping, and I appreciated the ease of the 1 button design, pretty easy to navigate during use. Since the toy is silicone, it works well with water-based lubricant. A little lubes goes a long way on this toy’s smooth shaft. I also found that cleaning the toy was pretty easy, even just using anti-bac soap and water. Beyond 1 offers 9 vibration modes which range from a low, medium, high, to a variety of vibration patterns that pulse and buzz. I had a lot of fun checking out the different vibration settings and seeing which one I liked best. I also enjoyed the steady vibration at it’s highest level. The toy isn’t as quiet as some of the other vibes in my collection, but it’s not loud at all either. For example, it’s not something I would have to worry about a roommate hearing or anything.

I really liked the curved head of the toy, and honestly I used it on my nipples and my clit right away. I liked the rounded head and thought the silicone felt fabulous when lubed up against my skin. I love when sex toys are multi-functional for me, I like being able to get off clitorally and then switch to vaginally with the same toy, and that was something I could do with the Ophoria Beyond 1. I liked using the different vibration patterns on my clit, and then using the steady vibration when used internally. The highest setting wasn’t super intense, but it was nice and definitely helped me to reach orgasm. With this toy, I did more of a rocking motion rather than a thrusting motion. I really liked using this toy from behind on all fours and I found that even with a little lube on my hand I could still hold onto the toy. I think this toy would be great used as a couple! You could have your partner grasp the handle and work the toy in and out of you, and the vibrating head could even be used anally or held against the testicles if used in a female/male or male/male couple. I liked the amount of contour that the curved tip of the shaft provided, and I found that I could rock my hips against the toy for added stimulation while it worked my G-spot into a frenzy.

LELO Toy of the Week: Gigi

January 27th, 2011 @ Amber St. Clare

LELO Gigi, How I adore thee. My sex toy storage box is filled to the brim with Lelo toys, but lately the one I’ve been reaching for most often has been the Gigi. Gigi is one of the first adult toys that Lelo released, and it’s one of my favorites actually. It’s a mid-sized G-spot vibe, made of body safe ABS plastic and soft velvety silicone. The vibe is easy to use, is rechargeable, and comes with the usual 1 year limited warranty that comes with all LELO toys. The toy comes in the pretty black signature LELO gift box, comes with a user manual, charger, and a white satin storage bag. It’s no secret that I adore all things LELO, and these are some of the very features that make LELO so great to me. From the toy, down to the packaging. I always feel confident when using a LELO toy, and I can count on LELO to create quality sex toys that appeal to me. Gigi is pretty special from top to bottom. Gigi is an internal vibe, but it can also be used externally. The handle of the toy is made of quality plastic, the tip of the end has a silicone plug that can be removed to expose the charging port of the toy. This is where you plug the toy in to charge it. I love rechargeable toys, they’re convenient and are easier for me to use than fumbling around with batteries. A few hours charge of Gigi and you’re set with around 4 hours of use or so, depending on what speed/vibration setting you use the toy at most often. I like my toys on full blast, so my charge usually doesn’t hold a full 4 hours, but it’s pretty darn close. The silicone plug covers the charging hole when the toy isnt being charge, this helps keep the port clean and dry from lube or other fluids. This toy isn’t waterproof, unlike LELO’s Insignia toy line, so you should use caution when using this toy near water. I have used this toy in the tub with caution, being sure not to get the charging port or the button wet, but it’s not something that LELO recommends doing. I know, I’m quite the sex toy rebel! ;) Cleaning the toy is a breeze. Simply use a toy wipe, anti-bacterial soap and water, or even your favorite toy cleaner. Just be sure not to get moisture into the user button or the charging port. Also, since the head/shaft of the toy is made of silicone, it’s best to use a nice water-based lube with this vibe. Gigi is pretty small and fits nicely in the hand, and it’s easy to maneuver, so you can even pair this toy with an external clit toy such as the Lelo Lily. I like teasing Gigi against my neck and nipples too, and I love warming up by using the flat head of Gigi against my clit. The head of Gigi offers a flat head, that is great for clit stimulation, and is lovely for internal G-spot stimulation. The silicone is smooth to the touch and feels great on the skin. At the base of the shaft on the handle of the toy, you’ll find a circular user button. The button can be pressed up/down and +/-, where the up/down buttons let you browse through a variety of vibration settings from a pulse to a rumble. The +/- buttons are how you power the vibration, from a light vibration to a nice steady medium-high vibration. Now, I’m the not the first to say that LELO toys aren’t the most powerful vibes on the market, but I do think they are the most stimulating to me. The vibration intensity isn’t too powerful or over the top, but it’s still nice and strong. Also, the vibrations aren’t buzzy, they’re deep and rumbly and resonate deeply. It’s one of my favorite things about Lelo toys, the fact that their vibrations seem to stimulate deeper than most higher buzzing vibes.

Even though Gigi is designed as an internal toy, unlike when I use other G-spot vibrators, I like to use Gigi on my clit often. I don;t know why, but I just simply love love love the flat head of Gigi. It feels fabulous against my clit. I’ve been reaching for it most often when I masturbate lately, whether it’s for clitoral or vaginal stimulation. I’ve gotten off at least 5 times this week just using Gigi on my clit alone! That is why I chose Gigi as my pick for LELO Toy of the Week. Internally Gigi is awesome, the flat head presses against my G-spot nicely, and the handle makes for easy grasping as I thrust the toy against my G-spot. This toy is even great for couples, because your partner can stimulate your G-spot with Gigi while giving you oral sex. Or you can tease the flat head of Gigi against your clit as your partner enters you from behind. Guys can even enjoy Gigi on their genitals. You can hold the flat head of Gigi against your man’s perineum, or massage it against his balls and up and down the top and underside of his cock. I’ve found that using Gigi gives me great orgasms when used internally or internally, so it’s been my go-to vibe lately. I love the design of the toy, the pretty color, the smooth supple silicone, and the easy in powering the toy. An awesome pick for sex toy newbies or adult toy pros alike!

Je Joue G-Ki

May 23rd, 2010 @ Amber St. Clare

I really loved the Je Joue SaSi. I think I’m one of the only sex toy bloggers who seemed to think that SaSi lived up to it’s hype, but to each their own. I can definitely understand the mixed reviews on the toy, because SaSi did take a different approach to stimulation than other sex toys. So when I heard that Je Joue had another toy in the works, I was pretty excited. A few months ago Je Joue finally released the new toy, the G-Ki! How cool! I was excited. The Je Joue G-Ki looked similar to the SaSi to me, in the design and colors, however as the SaSi was a clit toy the G-Ki was a G-spot toy. Similar toys with mutual features yet two different aims to sexual pleasure. Needless to say, I was intrigued. When I finally got my hands on the G-Ki last month, I was thrilled. I loved the luxurious and classy box that the G-Ki came in. Upon opening the box, youre greeted with yet another box, this time a beautiful black toy that opens with a ribbon. Inside of the box, G-Ki is nestled in all of her orgasmic glory. There the G-ki sat, ready for clitoral or G-spot stimulation, and fully capable of both. Rechargeable, waterproof, and made of supple body-safe silicone, a sleek body and shaft, a sculpted curved head, and a seamless interface with easy to press navigation buttons that look very similar to it’s sexy sister, the SaSi. G-Ki also came with a user manual, and a magnetic charger, that attaches to the top of the user interface, and charges the toy that way, while the other end is pulled into a wall outlet.

G-Ki boasts 5 different vibration speeds and 5 different vibration patterns. Unlike other “waterproof” toys, G-Ki’s seamless body means that the toy is fully submersible in water, so it’s perfect for fun in the bathtub! The silicone body of the toy is beautiful and soft, and the curved end of the toy curves up into a slight bulb for pinpointed G-spot stimulation. While the toy is made for G-spot stim, you can use the head f the toy against your clit also. G-Ki is a lover who wants to please in whatever way that it can, and really, who am I to deny it that? The toy really shines and stands out from the rest of the crowd with it’s design though. Je Joue obviously realizes that no two vaginas are the same, and therefore the internal structure of the G-spot (or if you want to get technical, urethral sponge) isn’t always at the same point in each women. G-spot stimulation depends on the women, some need more of a curved head to stimulate the G-spot, and some want more of a traditional smooth head. Some prefer firm pressure, while others want a lot of thrusting. So the G-Ki has these little “knuckles” at various points on the shaft of the toy. You press the “knuckles”, one mirrored on each side, and you press them and it releases the joint, so you can bend it more, or straightened it out a little bit. You can do it down the entire shaft. Once you let go of the joints, the toy locks back into place, keeping the curve that you customized to your liking. You can use anything froma  slight curve, or a dramatic nearly U shaped curve. It’s really up to you.

After charging the toy, which was truly very easy, I decided to break out my favorite water-based lube (no silicone lubes with G-Ki please!) and get down to business. I decided to tease G-ki on my breasts and down my stomach first, the vibration felt nice, I chose a light speed to work my nipples and tease my belly. As I worked my way down, I pressed the G-Ki against my vulva, and teased it against my clit. The smoothness of the silicone against my wet naughty bits felt delightful. I turned up the speed to high and let the curved head vibrate against my clit to arm me up, the highest vibration setting isn’t super intense, but it’s definitely good and in my opinion it’s strong enough to get the job done. So it worked nicely on my clit, but what about my G-spot? That was what I wanted to find out! I tried using the G-ski in the slightly curved formation that it has come in, but I found that it didn’t hit my G-spot properly, so I pressed the joints and made more of a curved G shape on with the shaft. I pressed the toy into me and could feel the curve hit my G-spot. I seemed to catch on pretty quickly and find a shape that worked best with my internally. Once I found my shape, I turned the toy onto it’s highest speed, and began working the curve against my G-spot. I could grasp the handle of the toy very easily and use it to thrust the toy against my G-spot. It felt really awesome! I could feel myself nearing orgasm, so I reached for my SaSi, which I had conveniently laid beside me before working with the G-Ki. I turned it on to my customized setting that I like best and I rested the SaSi against my clit, needless to say, it took me way over the edge and I came hard and fast. Phew! G-Ki and SaSi tagteamed me well and turned me into a puddle of sweating orgasmic bliss. As much as I like the toys on their own, they’re pretty awesome when put together and used in blissful unison.

LELO Gigi

April 2nd, 2010 @ Amber St. Clare

I love turquoise. It’s actually my favorite color, so when LELO came out with the new Turquoise color in the Gigi g-spot vibe model, I knew at some point I needed to own it. That time has come, and since Gigi’s arrival, so have I. It’s officially Spring, so pretty colors are blossoming all over. So why shouldn’t my pussy get to enjoy some of that bright Spring color fun? LELO Gigi comes in a pretty bright Turquoise blue box emblazoned with the LELO logo. The box simply squeals “open me up and enjoy me, I’m luxury!”. Like all LELO toys, Gigi comes in it’s own black case. Upon opening the case, you’ll find Gigi snuggled nestled in it’s plastic container and ready for use. You’ll also find a user manual, a charger (like all LELO toys, Gigi is rechargeable, no batteries needed), a satin storage pouch, and a 1 year limited warranty. If anything happens to your precious Gigi, you can count on LELO to back her up with a replacement. LELO is one of the only toy companies that offers a warranty with their sex toys, and I adore them for this. The LELO Gigi comes charged, which means you can have fun right away! While the toy is not waterproof, it is splash-proof. Just don’t get water or moisture into the control button or the charging input. The toy is easy to clean, with simple anti-bacterial soap and water or your fav toy cleaner. Gigi’s body is supple, soft, and delicious. The shaft of Gigi is a bright Turquoise color, and made of silky smooth silicone. The handle of Gigi, and the control button interface is made of quality ABS plastic, and like all LELO toys, these toys are free of icky chemicals or harmful ingredients. No Phthalates! Since Lelo’s shaft is made of silicone, it’s best to use this toy with a water-based lubricant, since silicone toys don’t play so well with silicone lubes. Now let’s take a closer look, shall we?

If you look at the base of the toy, you’ll see the white plastic handle and the user panel. The tip of the handle is where the charging input is located, this is where you’l plug the charger into the toy. In the photo above, you’ll notice that the charging input it covered by a silicone plug, this is to protect the input from moisture during use. The control button has 4 arrows, one up one down, one left one right. This is how you’ll control the intensity of vibration, the speed, and turn the toy off/on, and lock the toy. To lock the toy you can press the left/right buttons at the same time for 3 seconds and the toy will lock. That means you can take the toy in your purse or luggage without worrying about it turning on by itself. To unlock, simply hold the buttons again for another 3 seconds. Use the arrows on the buttons to chose what vibration pattern and speed works best for you. There are 5 different vibration modes and all of them are very fun. Some are soft and fluttering and others a deep buzzes. The intensity of the vibrations can range from very low to moderately intense. The thing I like about LELO toys is that the vibrations resonate nicely. I don’t need super powerful vibrations from LELO toys, because their vibrations are deep and that makes for very nice stimulation. Gigi can be used for G-spot stimulation or clitoral stimulation. I’ve used the toy for both and love it for both! The tip of Gigi’s head is curved and flat, so you can inset it into your vagina, and it can press up against your G-spot. I like the angle of the toy and I like the way it pressed against my G-spot. It creates very nice internal stimulation and since the toy is so lightweight, it’s easy to allow the vibration to stimulate you while you hold onto the base and thrust the top against your G-spot. Yummy! Another great thing about the LELO Gigi vibrator is that it’s one of LELO’s smaller mid-sized vibes so you can stimulate your clit with another toy a you us Gigi on your G-spot. Try pairing Gigi with the Hitachi Magic Wand or with another LELO toy such as the Lily clitoral vibrator. Gigi is also great for clit stimulation. I’ve gotten off many times just by using Gigi on my clit. The feel of the soft silicone against my wet girly bits created very yummy friction that sent undulating vibrations throughout my labia and clitoral area. I like to hold the tip of the Gigi’s flat head against my clit, it feels awesome! This toy is very versatile, since it can successfully be used both vaginally and on the clitoris. I adore Gigi. She’s everything that I hoped she would be and more.
