I haven’t been buying much strappy lingerie lately, because I feel like I have quite a bit of strappy stuff at the moment, but this set from Ewa Michalak was a must because…ruffles! I’m addicted to ruffles on lingerie. I most often shop for lingerie for fashion and at home wear, rather than wearing the lingerie out under my clothing during the day. For me lingerie is something I like to enjoy most of all at home, so while the ruffles might show under a shirt (no problem for me, I think it would look super cute under a low-cut black top! as outerwear!) and be visible under clothes, thats not the point. The SM Pikanteria set made for wearing under clothes, it’s a set for showing off enjoying. I think the semi-sheer red mesh pairs well with the paneled cups and black trim. The red and black edged ruffles at the tops of the cups is just so damn cute! The thin straps are adjustable with a small slider, and I like that they don’t dig in, because I can adjust them to fit my bust. Also ideal if you have asymmetrical breast, and want the strap to be a bit tighter over the one cup. The matching ruffled panties really complete the look and make this such a sexy and fun set for full busts! Ewa Michalak sizing runs true to size in my opinion, but with a firm band. If you’re between band sizes, you could try sizing up in the band. Cup sizing is true to size and true to Polish bras sizing, which to me isn’t much different than UK sizing.
If this ruffled set isn’t enough, it also comes in a babydoll! So damn cute. I like this set in person even more than I liked the photo, so now I’m thinking I should have gotten the matching red ruffled babydoll. I’m a fan of this brand because of their wide size range, their full bust offerings and for their fit. Their bras fit so well if you make sure you choose your proper size. Their bras are also really well made, everything is sewn in the Ewa Michalak studio. They were the first brand to introduce me to Polish bra brands, and I’ve been wearing this brand for as many years as I’ve been lingerie blogging. I look forward to seeing what new designs they come up with in the future, and hopefully I can grab up the matching babydoll! Many of their designs are limited, so if you see something, grab it up before it sells out!
I love candles and wax melts, but it’s so hard to find brands that really work for my aesthetic and tastes because so many fragrances smell artificial. Thats why I was so excited to find Nichols Gems Handmade, which uses essential and fragrance oils, dried flowers, glitter, and pretty gemstones to create beautiful handpoured candles, tealights and wax melts. These smell so good! The scent combinations are unique, the notes don’t smell fake or cloying, and and the inclusion of fragrant dried flowers, tumbled gemstones and a sprinkling of glitter. The wax melts come in the plastic clamshell packaging, and the tealights are packaged so nicely and tied with a bow. The candles are available in a silver tin or a glass jar. They have pretty and aromatic scents like Spiced Marsala Chai, Jasmine Flower and Peony Bouquet.
These melts and candles have the perfect smattering of dried flowers and glitter and gemstones, without being too little or too much. The natural essential oil of the Lavender and Amethyst candle smells pure and relaxing, and they also have unique scent combinations like their popular Egyptian Goddess fragrance and Sultry Angel scent. The soy wax melts evenly and smoothly, and the scents have a great throw before and after lighting. It’s hard to choose a favorite scent, they’re all so different and all so nice smelling. Spiced Marsala Chai smells so waring and rich when used in the wax melt warmer, and I love the glittery and bright dried flowers in the Peony Bouquet melts. So glad I tried this brand, can’t wait to try more of their candles and wax melts!
Looking for dopeass enamel pins without the fluff? Check out No More Industries, they have anti-45 pins, Star Wars pins, and other statement pins for when you want your opinions to be heard. Loving this Not My President pin, featuring a photo of 45. I also got a cool Rocky Horror Picture Show lip enamel pin, which looks just like the mouth featured during the intro song, and then in honor of Princess Leia and that Star Wars movie franchises, The Force pin. These are cool as fuck. Check out entire pin collection at No More Industries.
Indie lingerie brand Lonely Lingerie has just released their new lookbook and campaign featuring 57 year old model Mercy Brewer. Loving the diversity and inclusion of a model 50+, this is a great first step, so I’m excited to see if any other plans might follow suit. There has been a small upsurge of diversity of age and size in modeling campaigns lately, but it’s still a very small margin, and I hope to see more in the future. Check out the new Lonely lookbook below, and shop the new collection at Lonely Lingerie. You can read my blog post about Why Lingerie is Ageless, and refers to the hope of women 40+ modeling more often for brands.

I recently found this beautiful luxury ready to wear line and swimwear collection from Nigerian fashion designer Andrea Iyamah. The collection is full of the most beautiful prints and fabrics as one piece swimsuits, monokinis and bikinis. The collection is so unique and original for the swimwear market, and Andrea also creates beautiful silhouettes in her ready to wear line featuring jumpsuits, bell bottoms and more. Everything looks couture and very stylish, merging modern shapes with bold colors and prints inspired from Africa and it’s rich and beautiful heritage. My fellow sisters, I’m with you. As we turn down our buying power, we strike and don’t use our money today, we miss work or school today, as we stand together and against the war on women. I will not be giving my money to business today, not buying gas for the car, but instead reaching out to my fellow women to say today, as always we are one. If you’re unable to miss work today, it’s okay, stand with us in solidarity and wear red (even if it’s just lipstick, a scarf, or nailpolish) and walk with your head held high. The truth is, many women cannot afford to miss work, many live paycheck to paycheck due in part to the gender wage gap and other circumstances. What you can do today is stand up to the patriarchy. Do not spend money on large corporations of businesses run by men. Instead, if you must spend money, buy and support women run businesses locally or online.
In solidarity with all of the women who are taking part of A Day Without Women (and even those women who refuse to participate and are still suffering from the ingrained self-hate of a patriarchal society), I will not be updating the blog for the day with reviews, or lingerie lookbooks, or anything of that sort. It is Womens History Month, so stay tuned for posts celebrating women past and present.
Love and sisterhood,
I adore longline bras, and Cleo by Panache always comes up with such bright and colorful longline bras with cute floral prints. The thing I like about Cleo’s longline bras is that they could be worn as outerwear as a bustier, because of the padded lined cups. The Cleo by Panache Breeze Longline Bra features a bright and fresh pink floral print with lots of bright pops of color, added balconette cups. The band runs true to size, as well as the cups. I find that the cups tend to run narrow on me, so I often size up in the cup. The straps are firm and stay in place, and the design offers lift and support. The matching brief has the same cute floral brief and contrasting neon yellow bow at the waistband to match the bow at the center gore of the bra. The panties run true to size. Breeze has been around for a few seasons now, but this new floral print design is new for SS17 so it’s just now coming to stores. Right now you can find it at Figleaves. This set is super cute for Spring/Summer! If you’re a fan of Cleo for their style and fit, be sure to check out the new Breeze colorway.

I was so excited when I saw this super cool enamel pin from Pin and Seller, this Clue inspired pin is made of hard enamel and features two pin closures on the back to secure the pin in place. The details are awesome, and it features he cast of the Clue movie, all with their backs turned but all easily recognizable all holding a weapon. So much fun! Love the nostalgia of this piece. You can find the pin from Pin and Seller on Instagram and buy directly from their online shop!
